Rachel Duchateau, first Filipina to re-acquire Philippine citizenship in Dhaka 1175 times read
On 17 November 2008, Consul General Alex V. Lamadrid administered the oath of allegiance to Mrs. Rachel Zamora Duchateau, in connection with her application for re-acquisition of Philippine citizenship under Republic Act 9225, otherwise known as the Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act. Mrs. Duchateau, a Belgian national, is the first Filipino to regain her citizenship at the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka. The historic event was witnessed by Mrs. Duchateau's husband Mr. Koen Duchateau (right) and FilCom member Mrs. Elisa Benafin (2nd from right).
